My Project
Reading is fun. That is all we always emphasize to our students but unfortunately, not all of my students believe that reading is fun. As we are excited to begin the 3rd quarter and the 2nd half of first grade I launched the Adopt a Reading Buddy project in my classroom. The goal of this project is the student will read a book at home for 15 minutes or more each day outside of school. They can read with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, babysitters, siblings, or their stuffed friends. They will also bringing their reading journals at home to have an accountability on what they are reading. It will be helpful for them to understand the book they are reading. Their journals should come back to school everyday to earn a prize.
We already launched our Adopt a Reading Buddy in our classroom last March 8, 2024 it was successful.
To ensure its continuation until the end of school year, I am exploring ways to make it sustainable and maintain its fun and engaging nature for my 1st grade students.
