My Students
My students are amazing and motivated. We are an inner-city creative arts magnet school in the heart of downtown. Every student in our school is introduced to many different paths of arts from sculpture to dance to theatre, creative writing, literary publishing, and music.
Our students are incredibly talented and focused.
We are diverse and dedicated. Our students are artistic and real. Arts are a very real part of our students' identities and purpose. Our students are, quite simply, amazing.
My Project
Our library is still pretty new, we are working on building our book collection, and we've made great strides. Now, it's time to replace the wobbly table we've been using as a reference desk
Information literacy needs a home.
We have a beautiful space, and an incredible community, but we don't have a home for information. Our reference desk needs to reflect the beauty of our space.
In an age of "fake news" and clickbait websites, all put out to make money, facts are important. Our school needs a classy reference desk to welcome students to information and media literacy.
All students deserve a welcoming space, and our goal is to do everything we can to provide our information and literacy services in an environment that makes it safe to ask the difficult questions. This desk is our first step.
