Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My ninth grade Algebra students all have such unique personalities and all come from very diverse backgrounds. Although we are a low-income, high poverty urban school, my students come ready to learn everyday. In my classroom, we have fun doing engaging projects and working with one another. Having students of various backgrounds and who have various interests makes for a very lively classroom environment. As a teacher, my goal for these students is to make their time in my classroom as positive as it can be.

I love coming to school everyday because I love to see my students excited to learn and ready for a new challenge.

I hope to be able to incorporate math manipulatives, hands-on activities and as much technology as I can in my classroom to ensure the students are enjoying the learning that is happened.

My Project

These calculators will mean the world to my students. My students know what it is like to be in a school system where not a lot of funding is provided and they deserve the chance to utilize these materials and be successful. My students can use the calculators on assessments, classwork, and homework.

My students will be better prepared and engaged when completing assignments in my class and I believe they will be more excited to try a new math challenge and explore via their calculator.

Using technology in any high school classroom also prepares students for life after high school.
