Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All of my students are full of energy and have an excitement for learning. They appreciate the little things, which makes teaching so amazing. I can show my class a picture of something to simple, and they come up with tons of questions and observations. They work hard and they love to learn.

My 26 students are amazing kids and aim to always have a growth mindset.

My school is a Title I school and we all work as a team. We strive to see growth in each and every one of our students and, in order for that, they need to receive the best education and differentiated instruction. I believe I could make that difference in each of my first graders, and I am excited to see what the growth and hard work my class accomplishes this year and future years.

My Project

These headphones and Alexa will help my students use technology everyday for their reading. We were provided a set of Chromebooks for the whole class, but we do not have enough headphones. The headphones we do have is challenging to share because every time a student needs to use the headphones, I need to wipe them down to ensure they are germ free before allowing another student to use them. Because of this, only 5 students get to the Chromebooks a day.

With more headphones in the classroom, each student will be able to use Chromebooks each day on their own time.

The Alexa will be a center for students to listen to stories, help with their spelling, and even listen to read alouds on since there will be a screen! I am excited to get more technology in the classroom.
