Adding Exciting Additions to Our Listening Center!

My students need more books, headphones and CDs to make our literacy program successful.

My Students

Students at a brand new charter school in Vineyard, Utah are taking a new approach to learning. Rather than a traditional school model, students progress at their own level and pace! We have a huge range of students from many different cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. We have students driving from their homes 40 minutes away, and students who live around the corner from the school. We have a Stem and recreation area, where children learn through experimentation. The focus at the school is for those left behind to catch up and more and for those who are ahead to soar!

My Project

We are adding some materials to our listening center, including more headphones, books and cd's. This will greatly benefit our 1st grade students literacy skills. This will help expose our students to different types of genres of books, different reading levels, and help expand reading skills due to having the books in front of them, and listening to the books. It is beneficial to them to hear books read in different voices and tones. We are in need of more materials so that the center is engaging throughout the year. Our kids are very excited to use our listening center!
