My Project
The main building of our school (where my classroom is located) was completed in 1929 and is located in Kensington—one of the neighborhoods most effected by the opioid crisis. Consequently, I try to make my classroom an aesthetically pleasing place where students actually want to be.
Your donation will help beautify my classroom by providing us with attractive, oxygen-producing—and thus, brain-enhancing—live plants.
Care for the plants will be integrated into our internal class economy in which students perform jobs and learn how to maintain a bank account ledger. Furthermore, many of these plants are native to parts of the Spanish-speaking world we will study throughout the year and will provide a tangible connection to those places.
