My Students
Imagine a room filled with the colors of the rainbow, smells of a freshly painted picture, and the sounds of laughter and excitement while students immerse their hands in a bowl of wet and slimy paper mache paste. My students love coming to art class each week and this year we are physically back in the art room, which makes so much more possible.
My primary goal as an elementary art teacher is to build confidence in each and every one of my students while creating a love and appreciation of the arts.
In the 20 years that I have been teaching art, I have been fortunate to have students who inspire me to be the best art teacher I can be. Not only do my students learn how to be creative and innovative through the arts, but they also develop life skills such as perseverance, empathy, and problem-solving. I want 100% of my students to be able to experience all of the sights, sounds, smells, and feelings of art class. My focus is to be able to serve all of my students with the best possible art education experience.
My Project
The art supplies that I am requesting will assist my students in successfully adding beautiful and lasting color to their artwork. Crayola brand color sticks are similar to colored pencils but so much better because there is no need to sharpen them. Much time can be wasted during our one-hour a week art class by sharpening colored pencils. My students have never used this art supply and would benefit from using Crayola Color Sticks because the color goes on with ease, their artwork will be bright and colorful, and the color will last longer and not fade.
My students love coming to art class and often tell me that ART is their favorite subject in school!
Elementary students genuinely enjoy experimenting with new art supplies and are eager to try new techniques. The art supplies that I am requesting will allow for my students to try these new supplies and techniques that will give them the opportunity to problem-solve, use their creativity, collaborate with other students, and engage in real-world challenges.
