Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are well on our way into our second year as a Medical and Science Magnet elementary school. My class is made up of 24 future medical professionals, who have chosen to explore the careers of a radiologist, obstetrician, phlebotomist, neonatal surgeon, pediatrician, neurosurgeon, cardiologist, and EKG technician, just to name a few! Our curriculum is incorporating the areas of health, medicine, and science.

Third grade magnet students will focus on the skeletal and respiratory systems, including the diseases that affect these systems and their corresponding occupations.

It is an exciting year full of new and amazing opportunities. We have also become a one-to-one technology school, enabling us to integrate the use of technology throughout the day. Health, medicine, science, and technology are topics that are definitely bringing my classroom into the 21st Century, creating curious, well prepared, and college-ready students!

My Project

We are a one-to-one technology classroom, and my students create numerous projects regularly using Chromebooks. They create slide show presentations and animations that reflect their learning (lung models, skeletal features and fractures, animated summaries of what they read), all of which look more professional and life-like when displayed in full color versus black and white.

Students can take pride in displaying their classwork and learning through professional, clear, and colorful prints.

Now students can print out their slide shows or create brochures. Displaying their work in color will encourage them to think creatively and enjoy learning.
