My Project
I have several students in my special education preschool classroom who have an intensive level of needs. Many of these students were born with multiple disabilities that hinder their ability to move, talk, play and interact with others. Typical toys and materials are not accessible to them due to their disabilities. The items in my project will allow my students to build foundational communication skills, pre-academics skills, occupational therapy and physical therapy skills, social skills, as well as independent daily life skills.
These toys and materials will greatly enhance the learning of my exceptional students.
Learning through play is the first step in a strong education. Having toys and materials that are accessible to my students' levels will give them the access they need to interact, play and learn from their peers.
