My Project

Technology has become huge in helping students access classwork and work to their highest potential. Many students can sit down and read, write, and research on a computer without help. In my classroom, many of my students need help to access assignments. We want to help teach our students how to use technology to their benefit and how it can play a huge role in their future. We are working towards creating a more equitable classroom and could use your help.

Learning how to use technology to help students access the curriculum is important because it gives them a sense of independence.

Other students are afforded independent learning, which means many can learn to love education and school. However, for many of my students, just doing some of the foundational things like reading and writing can be an uphill battle. This battle means my students rarely get to be independent learners and are stuck asking me to read almost everything allowed to them. With the help of modern tech, we are changing that with help from software that can help read, allow them, and they can dictate for writing. However, if ten or more students read different things from computer speakers, it becomes a cacophonous mess. That's why having comfortable headphones is so essential for students. The headphones mean that students can listen to their work and speak about their assignments without getting distracted. Students can learn how to use this technology confidently before they reach high school, where they will be proficient in using the necessary tools. Thank you for helping make a more equitable classroom setting for my students and helping them learn a skill that will support them for the rest of their lives.
