Help me give my students adaptive tools such as colored pencils, an adaptive handcuff, and doodle mats that will help them build their motor skills and creatively express themselves.
The Arts play an important role in encouraging students to use their imagination, but most importantly they provide an outlet for self-expression. Access to these resources will make a significant difference for my students with disabilities in the art studio. These tools will give my artists the opportunity to cut, draw, color, and paint more comfortably.
Many of my students face challenges with their fine motor skills, and traditional art tools are challenging for my artists to use independently.
Adaptive art supplies like easy-to-grasp colored pencils, stencils, and sensory tools are fun for everyone to use. These adaptive materials such as the universal handcuff will help my students feel more confident while creating, and simply fun for everybody to use. In my art studio we put an emphasis on process over product, we reflect on our creations and celebrate each others' breakthroughs.
