My Project
My sixth-grade students are thoughtful, funny, and full of potential. They are learning how to express themselves, work together, and stay focused even as our class sizes continue to grow due to recent budgetary changes. What makes them special is how hard they work and how much they care about their learning, even when our space and resources are limited. Many of our students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and do not always have access to the tools or support they need to thrive. At school, we work hard to create an environment that gives them every chance to succeed.
This project will help me give every student a comfortable and supportive place to learn.
The stools will allow for flexible seating during group activities, conferences, and independent work. The adjustable, wheeled side tables will act as standing desks, giving students who struggle to stay seated a way to move and still stay engaged with their learning. Their mobility also means I can rearrange the classroom as needed to make better use of limited space. The quiet foot covers will reduce distracting noise during reading and writing time, and the colorful file folders will help us organize student work and routines more effectively.
My goal is to bridge the gap between what our students have and what they need by making our classroom a space that supports learning, focus, and collaboration for all. With more students and fewer resources, these materials will help us stay flexible, organized, and ready for success.
