Adapting Again: A Second-Year Teacher’s Second Grade Setup

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Next year, I’m moving from kindergarten to 2nd grade (not by choice!), and I need all the help I can get. This list includes supplies and goodies to help make the transition smoother for both me and my new group of big kids. The resources I’ve included in my wish list are meant to support their growth and learning in every way possible. For instance, hands-on learning materials like math manipulatives and science kits will help them visualize abstract concepts and make learning fun. Books and reading materials will foster their love of reading while building essential literacy skills. Classroom organization supplies will create a space where they can thrive—keeping everything neat and accessible so we can focus on learning instead of searching for materials.
