Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My PreK-5th grade students are natives of the digital landscape. Give them a device and they can navigate their way around it almost immediately! They are inquisitive and creative and are only hindered by the limits they encounter in the physical world. The size and capability of the monitor of the typical student laptop can be a hindrance for some students.

I would like to provide my students with a unique and different way to experience the technology they currently use.

I would like to give my students adapters which will create the opportunity to use dual monitors while working in the computer lab.

Utilizing dual monitors is a great way to improve performance as it offers additional screen space and allows for the display of dual pages simultaneously.

As students are becoming involved in more advanced ways to use technology from coding to esports leagues to robotics and beyond, we in the field of education must evolve and be able to prepare them to enter college or career fully ready. For many, this will involve a career path that is dependent upon the use of technology.

While adapters and dual monitors may seem like a small thing, fostering a student's creativity, engagement and productivity certainly is not--and that is my goal.
