My Project
These are materials that will help my students thrive in my classroom! Every student in my room has vision, hearing, physical, and/or cognitive disabilities. Curriculum that is taught in a general education setting is not always appropriate for my students. Because of their extensive learning needs, I am constantly making new adapted materials so they can succeed in their day to day learning!
Creating materials that are accessible for students with significant learning needs can be challenging but extremely rewarding when you watch the students shine!
For students who have vision and hearing impairments, nearly all of their learning materials needs to be in Braille or some form of tactile object relating to the learning. Many students also need materials that are high contrast for their vision needs. The Bigmack switch allows students who are nonverbal to be able to participate during learning times as well as with their peers! All students have the capability to learn and these materials will make that possible!
