Adapted Books and Visuals Needed

My Students

My students from the Bronx are part of a District 75 Elementary School Program for children with special needs. My students are inquisitive, energetic, and are in great need of a new classroom library to help build a love for reading!

Each of my students have individual learning styles and require various sensory supports.

But the one thing they have in common is that they love interactive story time in class. My goal this year is to teach them to read.

My Project

This Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will be used to purchase daily finished visual schedules and several adapted books. These resources will help my students follow individual work schedules and help me adapt several stories. When adapting books with visual supports my students are motivated to participate in read aloud. These adaptations will help me focus on academic vocabulary which will help increase their language and increase reading sight words. My students will love getting their hands on these adapted books. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
