My Students
My students are a wonderful group of diverse learners that come from many different backgrounds within a community filled with pride, but also financial need, especially in times of uncertain funding opportunities. They are creative, thoughtful, and hard-working individuals.
The kids love having choice in the classroom and really enjoy their flexible seating.
After a rough and abrupt end to last school year, they deserve to begin fresh in the fall. I cannot wait to see what this group of students are capable of in the future and to take advantage of their potential. I want to set them up with the best work stations for success, collaboration, and teamwork. We've practiced distancing, and hopefully, the future and these tables help us practice coming together again!
My Project
Our classroom is in need of tables to allow students to choose their seating daily. We already have some flexible seating options, such as comfy chairs, wobble stools, and a futon. Because all students learn differently, I would like to give them the option of sitting at a table if they are not comfortable in a flexible seating option.
Tables will also allow for collaboration to complete group work and projects.
Traditional desks are bulky and take up a lot of room in the classroom. They can also become very messy with papers and other supplies. Tables will allow our classroom to stay nice and tidy for effective learning. With organization comes focus and with focus, we can fine-tune the positive habits that need fostering for success.
