Each Spring our playground goes through a transition from a snowy winter-wonderland to a more muddy mess down on the grass. At this time, many students can be found wandering around the 'tar', instead of running and playing down below. Students who loved the snow are now left wondering what to play with, and, unfortunately, their options are fairly limited. Playground balls are sometimes lost over the fence in a way that we are unable to retrieve them, and the chalk leftover from last year has been worn down to small nubs. Additionally, hula hooping has made a huge come-back as a favorite activity, but we need more hula hoops to ensure that there's enough for all kids to have a turn!
Our playground options are limited; given the importance of physical activity, our recess can use some help and updates to keep kids moving and having fun!
Our recess duty teachers have sent out a call for help - our students need something to keep them playing! I know these supplies and materials will be a huge hit!
