Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With the effects of Covid-19 students are still learning how to be back in school again. With new teaching strategies I will be able to add more social and emotional learning into my classroom by being able to have these new materials so that every student is able to participate in my class. I believe in music and movement play a huge roll in the development of young children. A classroom set of rhythm sticks help students get a feel of learning basic percussion beats and rhythms. A class set of boomwackers gives more opportunity for students to start learning how to read music with note identification skills. Ribbon wands helps incorporate the dalcroze eurhythmics method. meaning students are able to express music with movement based skills. A class set of Bean Bags help students not only visually see pulse within music but are able to then express it themselves. A vocal microphone helps me the teacher able to project my voices for everyone in the class to here instruction so student who need more visual assistance are able to come in front of the class. A class set fo drum sticks helps me to differentiated my instruction on rhythms by being able to do bucking drumming and add variety to instruction. Scarves are used to help show movement in music by being able to show how music is flowing and what is trying to be portrayed. the two parachutes are for students to learn teamwork and how to work together in big groups. A french horn stand helps my french horn player hold their instrument. A saxophone stand helps to hold the instrument and holds others as well. The Cello end peg helps to secure the instrument in place to not slip off.
