This equipment will be targeted towards my PreK-2nd grade students at my low-income school, where nearly every student qualifies for the free lunch program. I will teach them the basic skills related to soccer, basketball, football, and activities like throwing a frisbee.
I am a new teacher in this school and I was shocked by the lack of PE equipment in the closet.
Our school does not have much of a PTO to speak of, so therefore many "extras" go unfunded. My goal is to make PE fun for the students while teaching them skills they can use for a lifetime. Without this equipment, this goal will be difficult, if not impossible. Most of these students come from a low-income area and rarely get exposure to many of the activities we will play in PE. They are great kids, but they need an opportunity. Thank you for considering my request!
