Active Learning Through Technology-Enhanced Gamification

My Project

Getting students to live active lifestyles outside of school is a challenge. Most of my students spend all their free time at home playing video games or watching videos on their devices. The goal of this project is to use that interest in technology to get kids excited about moving their bodies by using the projector and digital content.

When students are playing a game in PE that is similar to what they play on their personal devices at home, they are more engaged and excited to be moving.

A lot of my students have no desire to be an athlete so they struggle when we work on basic skills like throwing and catching, kicking a soccer ball, or dribbling a basketball. However, when we have played a game with the old projector they have been excited and students who rarely engage in pe are the first to get moving.
