Albert Einstein once said, "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life thinking it is stupid."
The same is true for my students. Not all of my students are visual and auditory learners. I strive to meet the needs of all learners.
In my classroom, I have many kinesthetic learners.
These students struggle to succeed in a typical general education classroom without accommodations. One accommodation that I feel is necessary is the use of therapy stability balls in my classroom.
My Project
My students will use the therapy stability balls for two main purposes. The first purpose it will serve is as a positive behavior reinforcement. Students will earn the privilege of using the stability balls as their chair based on good behavior. The second purpose is to meet the needs of my kinesthetic learners. Students who need additional physical stimulation can use the balance balls. The use of the balance balls by these learners typically increases attention which will thus increase ability to learn. Active bodies encourage active minds.
Any donations to this project will directly affect the daily learning of the students in my room.
