This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My amazing group of twenty-nine third graders this year are eager and asking to grow their brains. This group of students are creative, hardworking, and unique: but very active!

With limited access to resources, they still have a strong desire to learn.

Most come from low-income households. In addition, all are served free breakfast and lunch. Despite financial challenges, they come to school every morning ready to learn and are always giving their best. They deserve to have the flexibility to be more mobile while working to achieve academic demands.

My Project

My students need differentiated seating options to keep them alert and on task. Let's face it; most youngsters never like to sit still! These stools will reduce anxiety and promote a sense of calmness because they are free to move.

The Active Learning Stool from Learniture keeps even the most energetic students comfortable.

The textured, non-slip thermoplastic rubber bottom is curved to allow a wide range of movement without disrupting the class. Plus, the backless design encourages proper posture while strengthening core muscles. The polypropylene shell is easy to clean and a lightweight design makes mobility and storage simple. These features will enhance the learning of my students.

My classroom goal is to give all students an option for seating. This project was their idea because currently we only have enough for one team of students to use the Learning Stools. They all would love to use one daily. This project will truly be used daily and so will their learning needs through movement.
