This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a Title I school with predominantly English language learners who come from low-income families. Ninety percent of our children come from families that are at or below the poverty level.
My class is full of bright, active students who are excited to begin the path of learning.
They come in every day ready to experience new things. I want to start them on their way to being lifelong learners in an environment that makes learning joyful and makes my children feel respected and loved.
My Project
I am so blessed to teach in a school district that is very diverse. We enjoy learning about each others cultures and traditions, but in order to be successful students in the future my little ones need to grow in their knowledge of the English language.
Like most children my students love to hear and dramatize stories.
When they act out stories they improve their language skills while having fun.
The puppet theatre and books and props will introduce my students to new stories and feed their imaginations. They will also increase their English vocabulary without realizing it.
