Achieving Reading Success for Diverse Learning Styles

My Project

I have taught Kindergarten for 17 years, and without a doubt, my favorite moment each year, is when my students achieve that "light-bulb" moment! That time when their eyes light up, and all of the lessons, games, and hard work pays off, and reading makes sense!

While, one of the more heart-breaking moments, is when that handful of students does not get it, and no matter how hard they work, it just doesn't happen for them.

My goal is to change that and help each student, regardless of learning style, achieve some level of success!

Dyslexia affects 20 percent of the population and represents 80-90 percent of all students with learning disabilities. I have included in my project, literature and learning tools that will help me help my students find reading success despite the challenges they face. I will also have the opportunity to share the literature, like the book "Learning Letter Formation" by Evelyn Reiss, with my fellow teachers, reaching even more students at our school!
