My students need storage bins and leveled books in the D-I range. With these books my students will be able to independently choose books that are considered "just right" for their reading level.

My Students

My students are a diverse group that comes from all different backgrounds. Many of my students live every day not knowing if their basic needs will be met outside of school. For most of our students we are the one constant in their lives.

Our school strives to provide students with all that they need while they are in our care.

We say we are a family and we show that by the love and care that our staff shows to every student.

My Project

These books will build their confidence as they feel successful reading and understanding what is read. The book bins will allow each student to store their individual books in an easily accessible way. At this age they are beginning to explore new topics and understand story elements. This level of understanding makes it is important that they have reading material on their individual level.

I can see the students spread out around the room, enjoying their book while I am able to conference with them individually about their reading and monitoring their reading level.

This independent reading time will allow students to learn new information and maybe even "get lost" in a book! I love to watch the love for reading grow.
