Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Many kids are easily distracted from reading and their studies by digital distractions. So, instead of discouraging technology I want to hold it as a learning tool in my classroom and make my students achieve high above the average.
Most of my 26 Bilingual First Grade students (94%) are provided with FREE/REDUCED lunch and a high percentage are with incomes below the poverty level.
My students live in a neighborhood where 69% of the residents had not graduated from high school. Due to this situation, I am really interested in making them to be fully ready for upper grades and at the same time to have a positive experience with school so they will want to continue studying until they get a degree.
My Project
The iPad and the Chromebook will be used as a workstation. I will install applications that I know will help them master difficult concepts. All the students will be able to use them because in my classroom I have workstations where they rotate every 15 minutes. The applications (APPS) of the iPad and chrome-book will be engaging and students would benefit from the immediate feedback that cannot be accomplished in a pencil/paper task.
My students can also use the Wireless Keyboard Aluminum Cover Case with Stand to write words and stories in an easier way.
I want to create and environment where my students can feel attracted to the different tasks and to be able to engage in a learning experience that is impossible without the use of this technology.
I would like to have my students completely absorbed with the apps we will use and allow them to learn high above the average.
