This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When working with young children, accidents often happen in the classroom. At the start of the year, we request that children have an extra change of clothes in their cubbies. However, many parents don't send an extra change of clothes due to financial struggles. For the ones who do send in an extra, as the school year progresses and accidents happen, those clothes are rarely sent back to school. That means when the next accident happens, we don't have extra clothes for children to change into and we need to make phone calls home and children are waiting in their soiled clothes. We want to have a reserve of clothes in the classroom to quickly give our students when accidents happen, so they can go about their learning day and have a good time with their classmates.

During school hours, our kids can have a number of accidents happening causing them to need a change of clothing.

We are asking for small clothes that fit kindergarten children, so we can be ready for any accidents that happen in the classroom. The extra clothes will allow us to provide a change of clothes for children when spills or accidents happen. It would minimize interrupting parents with the task of bringing clothes to school and alleviate some of the embarrassment students feel when having to sit in their soiled clothing while waiting for parents to arrive.
