My Project
Our band program currently has around 250 students in grades 6 through 12, and about half of them play woodwind instruments. These instruments require reeds, which we try to provide for the students. Reeds wear down over time, and the occasional accident causes them to chip and break. We are currently running very low on our school supply of reeds. Additionally, we are in need of trombone mouthpieces and timpani mallets for our school owned instruments. These items will help my students sound their absolute best every day during rehearsal and for every performance.
My students and I are constantly raising money for the many costs associated with a growing band program.
This would take a huge burden off of our shoulders, and would allow my students to worry about one less cost. Furthermore, if my students have access to better materials, then they will sound better on their instruments. If they sound better on their instruments, they will have more fun and get more enjoyment out of being part of the band.
