My Students
Hello! My students are called Ms. J.'s Curious Kids. Our class at our Title I school has 7 intellectually disabled students in grades K-3. I am proud to say that my students, their parents and I have been working very hard on academics as well as life and social skills!
As you can imagine, in a class with students with intellectual disabilities, safety is number one.
They are exciting to teach and love to learn. Each day we focus on social skills including tools to soothe themselves while upset.
My Project
Thank you for visiting our project. In 2021 it is no surprise that special education students are being assessed and using lessons that are internet-based. Making sure students are assessed accurately and learning from the lessons proves challenging.
A lot of students with special needs also have fine motor delays, making traditional computers, laptops, and mouses difficult to use.
By providing my students with a touch screen iPad, they will be far more successful at online lessons and assessments. Accurately teaching and assessing special needs students is crucial in achieving their IEP goals and objectives.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
