Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have 22 bright and eager 2nd grade students. They come to school excited to learn everyday, but many of them do not have educational resources or opportunity outside of the classroom.
The majority of my students are second language learners.
All of the students at the school participate in the free breakfast and lunch program. The children at our school are very hard working. We are a program improvement school, but due to the hard work of both the teachers and the students our status has been placed on hold.
My Project
Through your kind and generous donations the tablet will be able to provide my students an opportunity to develop a better understanding of technology. It will allow me to assess the students performance throughout the school year and show their progress right away. In turn I will quickly see the child's area of need and will be able to address it. This will result be greater student achievement.
By using the tablet in my classroom I will be better able to use different computer programs to meet the needs of each individual student in phonics, vocabulary, fluency,and reading skills.
In addition, I will be able to access the students performance throughout the school year, helping them to achieve. The tablet will be a valuable tool to help close the achievement gap.
