My Project
My students range from kindergarten to 5th grade. It is really cool to be able to see them grow, and these tools will grow with them. Students in my class split their time between general education and special education. These tools will go with them between both settings to help them progress. They are so fun and cool. They love to tell stories and share their accomplishments. The seating in this project will allow my students to access their education with a way to get their fidgets out in a way that is able to allow them to focus as well. Stimming is never a bad thing, but being able to have a way to do it while also learning is essential for students.
Wobble cushions can be very helpful for students with ADHD or autism.
They can also help students that need constant movement or fidgeting.
Wiggle bands do similar things such as allowing students to be able to move their feet in a discreet way. I have had these in the past, and they have really benefitted students to be able to move their bodies while not disrupting their neighbors.
Lastly the portable lap desk allows students another way to be able to access learning while in a different comfort. Sometimes students need to sit in a group circle setting but need the comfort of a desk. This allows them to still be a part of the group activity while having the accessible feature of a desk.
