This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am looking to help my students have better access to art supplies, while also improving their organization skills, and teaching them to take care of materials.
I work in a Title I school, so our funding for extras is extremely limited.
I am unable to purchase supplies to make my classroom as functional as I would like. I would like to purchase color coded bins and shelving to use for organizing materials, and the items students bring with them into my room (lunches/jackets/etc.) In my room they sit at color coded tables (generously supplied by donors) and I would like to expand on this.
Organization skills are paramount to becoming successful as a student. Small steps like organizing art materials helps students build on the skills they will need as they move through middle school, high school and beyond.
