This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Currently, my students struggle with note taking, really utilizing their notebook, due to their low level of cognition and staying engaged throughout the school day. Taking time copying notes from the board, or asking them to write out something in their notebook takes up time that they can be working in groups, partnerships, and really being more hands on in the classroom.
If students don't find school engaging, empowering and interesting, then they are not interested in performing.
By purchasing a laser jet printer for my classroom, my students will have more time to practice the content and material they are learning, instead of taking notes about it. This printer will allow my classroom to be more visually engaging for all types of learners, and give my students the opportunity to display their work around their classroom. Beyond just the simple need to print, there is also a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment that comes from students seeing their hard work in printed form.
In addition, learning thrives in an engaging and appealing learning environment. In order to give this access to my students, my classroom needs chart paper, markers, and colored paper.
My Project
By having a printer and colored paper in my classroom, my students will spend less time note-taking, and more time engrossing themselves in the content. By being able to print out notes, maps, and photos of ancient civilizations, my students will have more of a hands on opportunity to engage in the curriculum. Chart paper and markers will engage my students daily and allow them to display their learning in their work environment.
If students don't find school engaging, empowering and interesting then they are not interested in performing.
By providing a printer for my students, their work can be displayed throughout the classrooms and hallways. Giving them the opportunity to display their work will give them pride in their learning. Using this printer for my students will empower them and give them more opportunity for success.
