This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Ability to have access to various activities throughout the school year to enhance their growth in specific Special Olympics sports, while ensuring a safe and sterilized environment. Having our own bocce equipment will eliminate the need for my students to rely on borrowing from other coaches. Basketball and net will allow them to practice their Special Olympic team skills in an indoor setting when weather or available access will limit them to practice regularly. The athletic gloves will assist with the new rock wall I installed to give students better accessibility and comfort minimizing the chance of injury; and giving them the confidence to traverse the wall with minimal slipping. My students work so hard all year in various sports and deserve this added equipment and cleaning supplies to not only build their skills in the sport but also their life skills.
