Did you have trouble learning to read? My classroom has many wonderful picture books for the students to look at as they begin their life long journey as readers. The idea is that hey students be as independent as possible and the shelving would allow easy access to the materials.
My students are a group of physically challenged students who are in a substantially separate setting due to their needs.
They are energetic and dynamic but sometimes it is hard to include them in mainstreams settings. My students are often lower academically than many of their mainstream peers of the same age.
My Project
My students are challenged but are capable of working independently. My goal is to set up the shelf as a library of picture books they can access easily. This would allow my students to choose books that interest them instead of me picking out books for them. It is difficult enough to gain access to your needs when you are in a wheelchair. Please help me create a library that is easily accessible for my physically challenged students.
My physically challenged students need easy access to their picture book library.
It will be easier for them to move around in my small classroom and to access the materials they need.
