My Students
This year is my first year teaching, and I have been blessed with an incredible group of students. Working as a Resource Teacher, I see a wide variety of children throughout my day ranging from kindergarteners to 8th graders.
Of the 18 students I work with, not one of them lacks an extra helping of quirkiness partnered with an intense desire to succeed.
Each and every one of my students are unique in their interests, abilities, and needs. As the year moves forward, we will continue to work on our weaknesses and celebrate our successes!
My Project
Working in a resource classroom I have many students all of whom are at very different reading levels. Some are at grade level and others are far below.
By having these high-interest magazines available to my students I can foster a love for reading in even the most resilient learners.
One of the three magazine sets focuses on 6th-8th grade level content, but at a reading level of 3rd-5th grade. This set will be of great use to many of my students who want to read things that are closer to their developmental level, but having a below average reading level. The other two sets will be great for supplementary curriculum for those receiving pull-out ELA support.
All-in-all, having access to these exciting materials would be of great benefit to all of my students.
