Help me give my students access to free feminine products. Middle school can be awkward enough. Let's make getting your menstrual cycle one less thing to worry about. Period.

My Project

According to the Alliance for Period Supplies, there are 15 states who provide free feminine products for schools, and unfortunately, Pennsylvania is not one of them. In addition, five states currently have opportunity for grants, and Pennsylvania is not one of them.

The goal of this project is to give access to free feminine products to students in grades 6th-8th.

The CDC notes that the average age to begin your menstrual cycle is 12. Having access to free feminine products in discrete locations can help reduce the stigma and embarrassment of starting your period at school. Furthermore, cycles are typically irregular in the early years, making them more unpredictable. Lastly, some families cannot afford feminine products. Let's help the girls feel empowered about their period.

Middle School can be awkward enough. Let's help their first menstrual period be a little less awkward.
