My students need books to build our classroom library. They need to have access to classic literature.

My Students

Access to classic literature is very important for students to be able to appreciate the works of such great writers as Homer and Shakespeare.

My high school students are in a self-contained class, and most of them have moderate intellectual disabilities.

They are very eager to learn, and are very interested in reading. They consider the read-alouds as their favorite part of our daily activities.

My Project

The materials we are requesting, are books that are considered classic literature. They are the works of Homer and Shakespeare. These books will be part of our classroom library. My students will learn the famous Iliad and the Odyssey of Homer, and one of Shakespeare's famous works, the Midsummer Night's Dream.

Reading the classic books we have requested, will help my students appreciate the works of famous writers like Homer and Shakespeare.

Learning and appreciating these stories will develop their love of reading.
