My Students
The students in these classes are a diverse group from a multitude of backgrounds. Some are from families where they will be the first to attend college while others are from families where paying the monthly bills is a challenge.
All students deserve an opportunity to create skills and self-sufficiency that they can take with them into the work force or to college.
They are eager for life skills and achievement that can help them as they finish high school and move forward in their lives.
My students want to be able to access their grades on their own, and many of them lack access to devices and internet at home.
My Project
Our school is not yet 1:1 with technology devices, so students will often come to me to check on their grades and assignments for all classes. We have an online grade system, but many students don't have access. I want to create an in class station to allow students access to their grades and teach responsibility.
A mobile grade station in my classroom will allow students to have access to their own grades in order to be more self-aware and responsible.
This Ipad will serve not only as a mobile grades stations, but it will also be used as a small group station for listening, creating products, and publishing to real-world audiences.
There are so many applications and uses for a single device in the classroom, and this iPad will help us use those applications regularly.
