Access for All: Switch-Adaptive Tools for Inclusive Learning in Art!

Help me give my students switch adapted equipment to improve accessibility and inclusion in our art room!

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. McDonald's classroom raised $484

This project is fully funded

My Project

The adaptive art materials I’m requesting already have a home in our classroom. Each item has been thoughtfully chosen to meet the needs of my students with physical, sensory, and cognitive disabilities—and now we just need your help to bring them through our door!

The switch-adapted tools and accessible art-making devices will allow students with limited motor control or complex support needs to participate meaningfully in the creative process.

These tools—like adaptive paint spinners, switch-activated devices, and accessible timers—will provide students with multiple means of engagement, expression, and participation during art class.

Our students learn in diverse ways and require specialized supports to access the curriculum. These tools will be embedded into our daily routines to support fine motor development, visual motor coordination, choice-making, and self-expression. With switch-adapted tools, students who use wheelchairs, communication devices, or who have limited mobility will be able to actively engage in hands-on artmaking—something that is often out of reach without the proper supports.

These materials will live in clearly labeled, accessible spaces so students can independently or collaboratively engage with them. Whether creating a painting using a switch-activated spinner or making color choices using a communication board, every learner will have the tools they need to participate and express themselves through art.

Your donation to this project will help make art accessible to all learners, regardless of ability. You’re not just funding materials—you’re helping students explore, create, and be seen as artists in their own right.

As an adaptive art specialist, I believe that all students deserve access to creative expression. With your support, we can remove barriers, spark joy, and create a more inclusive art room where every student can thrive.
