This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Dr. Suess wrote, “Think left and think right, and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!” Help empower my students to become critical thinkers and provide opportunity for a successful future for the next generation.

My students are affected by generational poverty and overcome difficulties on a daily basis.

They require additional support due to their unique needs and characteristics, as well as the challenges they encounter. They are bright, innovative learners and are highly motivated to do their best.

Many of my students have aspirations to become doctors, lawyers, teachers and entrepreneurs’ and have set both long and short term goals to reach their aspirations. It is important for these student to have the right mindset and tools to do the job to ensure academic success in the classroom and on state achievement tests.

My Project

No one could have predicted the social economic challenges the COVID-19 pandemic has brought to many American families around the country. Many of my student’s families have been faced with extreme hardships and have been struggling to provide basic needs for their children during this difficult time. We are requesting school supplies - markers, pencil boxes, notebooks, chart paper, markers, folders, glue sticks and more - so my students can achieve academic success.

Budget cuts to school funding in California have been put in place and there is a reduction in funding for school supplies.

In the past supplies were commonly shared in the classroom however, new regulations have been imposed on schools which outlines every student needing his/her own set of supplies to reduce potential spread of infection.

Helping to provide basic classroom school supplies to these families in need would greatly reduce the economic tension they’re already challenged by due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will allow for all students in my classroom to have the materials they need to be academically successful.
