My Students
My class is made up of 9 awesome individual kids. I am the teacher to the grades 2-5 Life Skills class in Springfield, IL. My students' disabilities range from autism to intellectual disabilities to cerebral palsy and more. Even though my students are between the ages of 7 and 12, cognitively and developmentally the ages range from 12-18 months and 6 years old. We not only work on academic skills, we also learn about functional life skills, social/emotional skills, hygiene, communication and more. We love our brain breaks and free play time, as much as we love learning. Any donation that is made will be greatly appreciated and put to great use.
My Project
The sensory items will help fulfill the needs of a great deal of the children in my classroom.
The academic locks with the letters and numbers will help them grow academically.
They love learning and exploring with all of their senses. The locks will help not only with letter and number recognition, but with their fine motor abilities as well.
The sensory water tubes will be a fun and a nice hands on tool for calming and regulating their feelings.
My students love school and learning and I want what is best for them everyday.
