My Project
With these books in my health classroom, my scholars will be able to relate to our topics in health through reading. Our school does not have a library for our scholars to check out books. Allowing the opportunity to have our scholars leave their technology and get immersed in a book will help with interdisciplinary education as well.
These books will provide a way for my scholars to dive into a world, sometimes similar to their own, and feel the connection to these characters who are facing many of life's health lessons that they are experiencing.
These topics range from mental health, anxiety, depression, suicide, drug and alcohol use, overcoming change, diversity, race, immigration and more. As a Title I school in an upstate NY city, our scholars see and experience firsthand many of these health topics.
