My Project
My PreK students with special needs love letters and numbers. While all my students have severe language, social, and attention delays, many of them excel at number and letter-based tasks. When they are motivated to learn their attention improves and their language increases. Many of my young students recognize the numbers and letters but would benefit from activities that help them use these skills in context.
The children are also learning problem solving and critical thinking skills.
When they sit to complete a puzzle or stacking activities they are learning size and ordering concepts as well as how to see the big picture. The materials I've chosen are sure to delight my students which will help them grow and be ready for big kid school next year.
