This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My first graders are becoming independent learners! I work with an amazing group of at risk students. Our school is situated in a traditionally under-served community with a majority of English Language Learners.
Based on the fact that English is the second language for most of my students, they struggle to learn English letter sounds and spelling patterns.
I am looking for a fun resource to help support my students in their efforts to learn English phonics. These rubber alphabet stamps and dry erase letter formation boards are just the thing for active children to play and learn simultaneously.
Everyday students participate in a learning block that we call "Literacy Centers." These are literacy based learning centers where students experience traditional academic concepts in fun and engaging ways that rotate throughout the week. Phonics practice is one of our learning centers during this block of time. Students pair up and practice their recently learned spelling patterns. These rubber stamps and dry erase boards will be the perfect addition to this traditionally dull center.
The set of rubber stamps and dry erase boards that I am requesting will greatly enhance this particular learning center.
By supporting this project, you will provide an engaging experience for my students to interact with the English alphabet in order to develop their reading and writing on a daily bases.
