My Students

My students are curious, eager, intuitive, and creative. They are hard workers, root for each other constantly, and seek out new ways to grow.

My students love a challenge and make deep connections between content and lived experiences.

They are a diverse group representing an array of socio-economic status, culture, race, and abilities. This creates a community that values each other's perspectives, and acts with empathy.

My Project

My students are a diverse bunch who are all living through the Coronavirus pandemic, and this period of rise in anti-Asian hate. All of the books in this project center the stories, experiences, and lives of Asian and Pacific Islanders.

Students in my class are kind and curious about people who are similar and different from them, and these books will provide a way to learn about the humanity of people from these parts of the world.

These books will be used in Morning Meetings, reading lessons, and as read-alouds to foster empathy, respect, appreciation, and respect.
