This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom Zen-Den/Library needs an upgrade, after its creation over a year ago! This designated corner acts as a meeting space, a reading corner, a social environment, and provides students an opportunity to take a mental health break from the stresses of school.
Along with being a safe space for students, it serves as our classroom library as well.
I am slowly building a library that is both inclusive and accessible to all students. This means curating books that are both in Spanish and English for my students to feel that I am providing an equitable opportunity to build on their literacy.
