A Year Through Pictures and Stories

Help me give my students three telephoto zoom lenses so they have better equipment to produce the best history book each year. My yearbook staff works very hard to tell the story of each year through the yearbook.

My Project

Yearbook is not just another class students have in their schedule throughout the day, it is a class in which students are creating a book that will sit on shelves throughout our community for years to come. Not many high school students get an opportunity to take pictures, conduct interviews, and write stories that will hold memories for hundreds of people. The lenses I've requested in this project will allow students the opportunity to perfect their photography skills to better tell the story of their peers each year.

The yearbook staff will be better equipped to take the best photos of everything students are involved in throughout the school year.

This class teaches students many real-world lessons like deadlines, fiscal consequences, customer services, design, ethics, and many more things they can take to their future jobs. English and math give students knowledge but Yearbook is an experience students can put on a job resume.
