This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every staff member and visitor who walks into my classroom immediately knows the kind of students I have: hardworking, innovative, kind, and creative. Their favorite subjects include Engineering, Technology, and Art. My students thrive with kinesthetic and project-based learning. They strive to become engineers, graphic designers, and business owners. The determination that they possess at such a young age is inspiring to me every single day.

My students are overwhelmingly kind-hearted and desire to make a positive change in the world.

They have created non-profit organizations based on social justice principles such as gender equality, environmental preservation, and education for all students. I want to do everything in my power to help them succeed and motivate them to reach their goals.

My Project

The most memorable academic experiences are when students become engaged in a creative and innovative way. Colored pencils, markers, and crayons allow all students to have an opportunity to make their work colorful and more imaginative. As a teacher, my focus is to instruct in an interdisciplinary way, by intertwining the arts into everyday assignments.

Incorporating art into primary subjects such as Mathematics, Language Arts, and Science can enhance and motivate students to delve into a whole new world of learning.

I have had students creative storyboards about how the Mayans learned to tell time, design trifold presentations about ecosystems, and construct coordinate planes of apple emojis. Can you image all of these projects... without color?
